Missions

Angel Tree - Pick an angel off the tree to support a Child SHARE child during Christmas.
 
Tutoring at Andrew Johnson and Ridgeview Elementaries - Village UMC has a long standing relationship with these elementary schools.  Many adults tutor once a week for an hour one-on-one in the media center.  Tutoring can be scheduled around your own schedule.
 
Friday Breakfast Group - This group meets every Friday morning for breakfast at 6:30 a.m.  Join them for fun, food, and fellowship.  The proceeds go to church missions projects.  About four times a year, this group all sponsors the All Church Mission Lunch after worship with proceeds going towards mission apportionments.
 
BritVil - Churches from the Britton and Village area unite to serve the hungry with this food pantry.  Volunteers work various days and times throughout the week.
 
Mobile Meals - Meals are prepared at the church and delivered to the homes of the homebound.  Cooking starts at 10 a.m. every Wednesday. 
 
Skyline - Village UMC provides food for Skyline Food Pantry for the month of June each year.  Donations of clothing and household goods are collected all year for Skyline.
 
Village Connections - Volunteers contact homebound members and friends and meet twice monthly to share updates. 
 
Youth Force - Middle school students join other youth from around the state to repair homes in a rural area. 
 
Appalachia Service Project - A week long mission experience for Sr. High students and their sponsors.  The focus is a relational ministry with construction on the side.  The group works to make homes safer, warmer and drier.   
 
Hospitality Greeters - Welcome our guests and members each Sunday morning with a smile.
 
Front Desk Volunteers - Answer the phone and greet visitors to the church throughout the week.  Half day shifts are available.
